FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What curriculum does Ridge Christian Academy use?
RCA uses Abeka, a structured, Bible-based curriculum that emphasizes strong academics and a Christ-centered worldview.
How do you measure student progress and growth?
Progress is evaluated through quizzes, tests, classroom work, teacher observation, effort, and a student’s ability to explain what they’ve learned.
What happens if my child falls behind?
Teachers partner with our Resource Department to provide extra support. Individual success plans may be created to help students regain confidence and momentum.
How do you support students at different learning levels?
Students receive targeted support through our Resource Department, while advanced learners may be assessed for placement in higher-level courses or, when appropriate, advanced a grade based on academic readiness and maturity.
Do you accept students with learning difficulties?
Yes. While RCA is not a specialized special-education school, we welcome students we believe we can support through remediation and resource services.
Will my child still be challenged academically?
Absolutely. Expectations remain high while instruction is adjusted to meet each student’s needs.
How do you help students build confidence as learners?
Confidence is built through faith in Christ, encouragement, small wins, hands-on learning, and a supportive classroom environment.
Is RCA a good fit if my child struggled at another school?
Many families choose RCA for this reason. Smaller classes and individualized attention help students rediscover success.
Will my child feel behind compared to other students?
Our focus is growth, not comparison. Students are supported where they are and guided forward at a healthy pace.
Do teachers communicate regularly with parents?
Yes. Teachers maintain consistent communication and are responsive to parents.
Will I be notified quickly if my child is struggling?
Yes. Parents are contacted promptly—well before report cards—so we can partner early.
How are behavior issues handled?
Discipline is rooted in biblical discipleship, focusing on correction, growth, and restoration rather than punishment.
How is bullying addressed?
Because class sizes are small, concerns are addressed immediately. Administration and parents are involved if needed.
What safety measures are in place?
RCA uses Active Defender safety protocols, along with structured security procedures and on-campus safety features such as secured entry points and security doors, to help protect students and staff.
Do students have special area and enrichment classes?
Yes. Students participate in a variety of special area and enrichment classes, including music, art, computer literacy, physical education, library, and other enrichment opportunities that support well-rounded development.
Do students get time outside and opportunities to move?

Do students wear uniforms?
No. RCA does not require uniforms; however, we do have a clearly defined dress code. Our dress code exists to promote modesty, focus, respect, and a learning environment that reflects our Christ-centered values while allowing students appropriate flexibility and individuality.
How many students are in each classroom?
Class sizes at RCA are intentionally small and are determined by maintaining healthy teacher-to-student ratios to ensure individualized attention and effective instruction.
Do you offer aftercare?
Yes. RCA provides an aftercare program as part of our enrichment offerings. Aftercare is a structured time that blends supervised homework support, educational activities, and fun, age-appropriate recreation in a safe and caring environment.
